Cooperative Ornithology

Cooperative Ornithology. Denmark Shire, Western Australia. Building materials. 2011.

Cooperative Ornithology is an installation designed to compliment the site-based work Ornitarium completed in Western Australia in August of 2011. The visual presentation was curated in partnership with master taxidermist Michael Buzza, Founder of the Museum of Natural History and the Academy of Taxidermy. Buzza’s replica birds and fieldwork objects assembled in collaboration with Basil Schur and Tina Smith of Denmark, Western Australia were installed in the gallery space. This work celebrates the Ornatarium and the process of participating in the biennial in a museum setting. An accompanying documentary video was also created.
