M12 STUDIO lecture at Autry Museum

Center Pivot (Lectures and Performances). The Autry Museum of the American West. Los Angeles, California. 2017. Multimedia Lectures and Performance. Additional Locations.

The Center Pivot Lectures and Performances are opportunities to share M12’s work with audiences through multimedia platforms. These events include visuals and readings from The Center Pivot series of books including essays and poems and highlighting images and sounds from the collection. The Center Pivot Library is a post-pastoral catalog, one made in places and with people often neglected—even disdained—by cosmopolitan communities. Like the book and record series, this installation proposes alternative approaches to overcoming divergent vocabularies, reference points and politics in the rural space. Topics range from wild horses in New Mexico and small-town punks in South Dakota, to rural post offices and small museums in Colorado.
