Center Pivot (Installation). Sala Diaz Contemporary Arts, San Antonio, Texas. 2017. Installation, size variable.
Center Pivot is an experiential installation highlighting images and sounds from the M12 Collective’s five-book, five-record collection of the same title. The Center Pivot Series is a post-pastoral catalog, one made in places and with people often neglected—even disdained—by cosmopolitan communities. Like the book and record series, this installation proposes alternative approaches to overcoming divergent vocabularies, reference points and politics in the rural space. Topics range from wild horses in New Mexico and small-town punks in South Dakota, to rural post offices and small museums in Colorado. The Center Pivot Installation was originally exhibited at Sala Diaz in San Antonio, Texas December 8, 2017 – February 3, 2018. Review.
